Special Instructions:

The work required by this procedure may cause the activation of an alarm and/or a
supervisory signal.  The office manager and the control center or fire
department that will receive the alarm and/or signal must be notified prior to
start of work.  (See FPAUTOFDCT/AL-A).


Items to Check & Initial Completion:

1. ___ Clean track.
2. ___ Lubricate all pulleys.
3. ___ Inspect for damage, worn and binding cable or chain and
       proper threading through pulleys.
4. ___ Replace fusible links and other heat actuated devices that
       have been painted.  Check operation of heat actuated devices
       other than fusible links.
5. ___ Replace damaged or stretched cables or chains and adjust to
       proper length.
6. ___ Check counterweight for proper suspension.
7. ___ Operate door by disconnecting or lifting counter-weight, or
       other appropriate means.
8. ___ Check for proper fit in binders and tight fit of wedge
       against stay roll.  Inspect stay roll for wear.
9. ___ Check for breaks in face covering of doors.
10.___ Examine tin-clad and kalanein doors for dry rot.
11.___ Inspect all hardware for damage or wear.
12.___ Clean up work area and remove all trash.
