What's the difference between filtering by "Unit" and "Unit Location" in a report?
When you filter a report by "Unit", MainBoss offers you the following alternatives:
-
Range of values: This lets you select individual units by unit name.
It does not include any sub-units contained by the selected units.
-
Specific values: This lets you select individual units as checkmarked in the list.
It does not include any sub-units contained by the selected units.
-
Units and all subunits: This lets you select a unit and all the
subunits that the selected unit contains.
The display shows you locations, but you cannot select them—if you want to select
all the units contained by a location, use "Unit Location" as
described below.
When you filter a report by "Unit Location", MainBoss offers you the following alternatives:
-
Range of values: This lets you select one or more consecutive locations by name.
You will see all the locations in your Locations list, including
(for example) vendor addresses.
When you select a location, the report will include information on all the units and
subunits contained by that location.
-
Specific values: This lets you select individual locations as checkmarked in the list.
The list only includes locations that contain units, and units that contain subunits.
When you select an entry from the list, the report will include information on that entry, plus all the
units and subunits contained by that entry.
-
Units and all subunits: This lets you select a single location.
You will see all the locations in your Locations list, including
(for example) vendor addresses.
All units and subunits contained by the selected location are automatically included in the report.
