I just installed a new version of MainBoss. When I tried to print something, I got an error message of the form "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ReportViewer.WinForms'..." What's wrong? The full error message reads: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ReportViewer.WinForms, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. This problem arises when you do not have the correct Microsoft ReportViewer software installed. Typically, this happens because you installed MainBoss Advanced incorrectly. The installation software for MainBoss includes a setup.exe file and a .msi file. Some IT personnel install the software using the .msi file directly. This is a mistake—while the .msi file does install MainBoss, the setup.exe does extra work to make sure that your computer also has up-to-date versions of necessary support software. In particular, setup.exe makes sure you have appropriate versions of Microsoft ReportViewer and the .NET framework, both of which are necessary for MainBoss to work correctly. If you do not have appropriate versions of this software, setup.exe downloads the software from Microsoft's web site. In order to fix the problem, run the setup.exe program supplied with your MainBoss installation files; in response to the program's prompt, choose the Repair option. This will fix your installation. Note that you must do this on every computer where setup.exe was not run the first time. |
