1. Skipping a Batch of PM Jobs

In MainBoss Advanced, there may be times when you want to skip a batch of planned maintenance jobs. For example, this may happen if you are migrating from MainBoss Basic to MainBoss Advanced—often there will be a period of overlap between the time you export data from Basic to Advanced, and the time you actually switch over all your operations to Advanced. The first time you generate PM jobs in Advanced, you may want to skip jobs that came due during the overlap time (since you’ve already generated those work orders using MainBoss Basic).

MainBoss Advanced offers an easy way to get these unwanted jobs out of the way. When you begin preparing a new batch of work orders (by clicking New Planned Maintenance Batch in Unit Maintenance Plans | Generate Planned Maintenance), the window has a field named “Work Order Creation State override”. Set this field to Void. This tells MainBoss that you want the whole batch of work orders put into the Void (canceled) state. When MainBoss creates the work orders, they’ll immediately be voided and you won’t have to worry about them again.

Note that you should also set “Purchase Order Creation State override” to Void, so that any purchase orders associated with generated work orders are also canceled.
