1. New! MainBoss Referral Program

MainBoss is offering a new incentive to its customers. Starting October 1st, 2002, the MainBoss Referral Program rewards customers for successfully referring MainBoss to other companies. Rewards include gift certificates to stores like the Home Depot, hotel stays, dinner at a restaurant of your choice, or even cash! If you know of someone who could use a great CMMS program like MainBoss, this is your chance to tell them about it and at the same time get a nice reward for yourself. The program works as follows (for full details visit http://www.mainboss.com/english/support/referral.shtml):

1.      You must work for a company who is a MainBoss customer, with a valid serial number for the MainBoss software

2.      You cannot receive a reward for referring another site of the same company you work for.

3.      MainBoss Dealers and employees are not eligible to receive a reward for making a referral

4.      The company you are referring cannot already own any type of MainBoss software

In the past, referrals have made up a significant portion of MainBoss sales and we would therefore like to give something back to all of our loyal customers who make an effort to communicate the benefits of MainBoss to others. If you have any questions about this program, please email us at info@mainboss.com. We look forward to your participation!

2. Note to all customers: MainBoss Annual Support Plan Changes

To better serve the differing needs of our MainBoss customers, we will be making some changes to the MainBoss Annual Support Plan. The current Annual Support Plan includes upgrades/updates to the software as well as technical support per phone and e-mail. In a recent customer survey, many companies indicated an interest in an Annual Support Plan that covers only upgrades/updates. Other customers indicated that they would like to purchase technical support on a “pay as you go” basis, since they very rarely call in for support.

Based on these suggestions, we have come up with a new flexible Annual Support Plan. This new plan will be effective January 1st, 2003, meaning that all new MainBoss customers will fall under the new plan. For our existing customers we will offer the opportunity to renew the Annual Support under the old plan, if the renewal is made before January 1, 2003. Any renewals after January 1, 2003 will be made under the new Annual Support Plan policies. More details will be mailed to MainBoss customers shortly.

Here is a brief summary of what the new Annual Support Plan options are:

·        Updates Only: customers receive any upgrades and updates that are available during the subscription period. They also have access to the FAQ portion of the MainBoss website

·        Incident packages: Technical Support calls can be purchased as 5 or 10 incident packages, where an incident consists of either phone calls or e-mails to resolve one specific issue

·        Per incident: If a customer does not wish to purchase an incident package, they can opt for the “pay as you go” option. If a customer needs technical support, they would pay for that one incident only.

Please note: a written letter providing further details on the Annual Support Plan changes will be mailed to MainBoss customers shortly. If you have any questions about the new Annual Support Plan, please wait to contact us until you have received the written information in the mail.

3. Did you know: Emptying the Completed bin in MainBoss @Requests

The completed bin is found on the left hand side of the main MainBoss @Requests window. Since it stores all processed and completed work request e-mails, the size of the bin can grow quite large in a short period of time. Not only will this affect the size of your database, but it will also affect how quickly MainBoss @Requests performs its functions. In extreme cases where thousands of completed e-mails are stored in this bin, MainBoss @Requests can take several minutes to update its logs and may even temporarily freeze up during the process. It is therefore a good idea to empty the Completed bin on a regular basis. For example, you can open the bin and delete all emails that were completed more than two months ago. This will ensure that MainBoss @Requests runs efficiently and that your database is not filled up with old emails.
