As MainBoss becomes fully integrated into your maintenance department, you may find that you don’t have enough user licenses to support all those who need to use the software.
Remember that MainBoss is licensed for simultaneous users. For example, if you have a 3‑user license, up to three people can use MainBoss at the same time. If a fourth person tries to start MainBoss, the program displays a message saying that you’ve already hit your maximum. The fourth person can’t use MainBoss until one of the first three terminates the program.
Similarly, if your MainBoss @Requests software is licensed for 25 requestors, your list of authorized requestors can have a maximum of 25 email addresses. If you’ve hit this maximum and you’d like to authorize someone else to submit requests, you have to delete one of the existing addresses from the authorization list...or else upgrade your license to allow more users.
To upgrade a license, contact a MainBoss representative in your area or the MainBoss head office directly. You will be issued a new license key: one that allows more users and/or more requestors. You enter the new license key as follows:
Ø
Open
MainBoss and login with access to the Administration menu
Ø
Go
to Administration->License Key
Ø
Click
on the entry for the license key you’re going to change (i.e. CMMS, @Requests
or ServiceDesk)
Ø
Click
Edit
Ø
In
the resulting window, enter the new license key in “License Key” (this means
overwriting the old key)
Ø
Click
Save, then click Close
Ø
Your
program is now licensed for the new number of licenses

With summer months on the way, electrical storms and power shortages are more common. These can have serious affects on your MainBoss data if your computer goes down in the middle of editing files. Here are a few tips to minimize your chance of losing data due to power outages:
If you find that your database files have been corrupted after a power outage and you are a subscriber of the Annual Support Plan, contact MainBoss customer service immediately. We will discuss your options for recovering damaged files.
